Content Digitization has become essential in today’s world to provide easy and efficient access to sources.

Content Digitization has become essential in today’s world to provide easy and efficient access to sources. USAID SMEA’s Content Digitization project is also aimed to achieve the digital transformation of learning sources. Courses based on Accounting and Hospitality business have been digitized to ensure that the content accessibility is made technologically possible. The content digitization has been contextualized to help the adults engage with the content. Contextualization in the project includes language, visuals, audio, and the andragogical framework.

The project consists of a custom-built Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS has video lessons, assisted with digital assessments and downloadable assignments. The final assessments of each course has a gameplay, to provide the learner with real-world problems. On passing the assessment, the learner is awarded a certificate to validate their knowledge of the course.

SheMeansBusiness

SheMeansBusiness is a program initiated by Facebook (now known as META) that aims to provide women entrepreneurs with the tools, training, and resources that can help them start and grow their business. Run in collaboration with various partners, we have trained more than 19,000 women in digital and financial skills in Pakistan.

DEMO facilitated the partnership of Facebook with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) to carry out the delivery of policy programs across the 7 Durshal community spaces. The delivery of policy programs included capacity-building training on Facebook's SheMeansBusiness, WeThinkDigital, WhatsApp Business, and Financial Literacy curriculum. Under this project, 200+ trainings have been conducted, 19,000+ women have been trained countrywide and 230+ women have been trained in KP.

PASS is a social media community which brings together citizens and the police to interact, raise and discuss their concerns and develop collective strategies to improve public safety for a peaceful Pakistan. Digital advocacy is done for the police and Pakistani citizens by DEMO for PASS through social media campaigns, content, engagement, ads and community management. While the range of content diversity is large, the key messages DEMO aims to dissect through PASS platforms revolve around police reforms in Pakistan, women in police and the responsibilities of the citizens and police towards each other.

Insaaf Ki Baat, launched in August 2021, is a platform where we hold conversations about the unresolved issues faced by Pakistani citizens to bring forward fair and just solutions to end them with a diverse range of specialists from the fields of policy-making, civil service officers, police members, lawyers, activists, politicians, journalists, government officials, and analysts. DEMO plays a part in directing, producing, and promoting the entire podcast series along with posting and promoting it. This involves the curation and production of episodes, promos, and snippets along with the planning and implementation of effective promotional techniques.

DICE

The Creative Communities Empowerment programme, DICE Creative Hubs, under the British Council’s Developing Inclusive and Creative Economies (DICE) programme, supported and curated eight meaningful activities enriched with powerful industry specific content enabling like-minded people to come together to dream, share, imagine, innovate and explore ideas.

A grant of PKR 1,070,000 each was given to eight creative organizations for the following categories: Fine Arts and Handicrafts, Software Development, Music and Performing Arts, Literature, Film-making, Architecture - Interior design and Industrial design, and lastly Graphic Design. DEMO together with the 8 selected organizations, co-designed creative hub activities which included a dialogue, a week-long workshop, a masterclass, a musical competition, a soft-skills training, a bootcamp, an exhibition, and a launch event. These activities aimed to strengthen the sustainability of their creative practices in the ecosystem.

In partnership with its donor JAZZ, UNDP engaged young social entrepreneurs through SDG Bootcamps.

In partnership with its donor JAZZ, UNDP engaged young social entrepreneurs through SDG Bootcamps. The SDG Bootcamps help young entrepreneurs turn innovative ideas into viable business solutions contributing to the achievement of some of the 17 SDGs.

DEMO has provided technical support in designing the framework and structure for the SDG Bootcamp; eligibility criteria, application form, shortlisting process, judges selection for the SDG Bootcamp for Social Enterprises jointly with JAZZ, UNDP and the implementing partner; developing the social enterprise bootcamp curriculum for a series of workshops, activities and information sessions on visioning future, storytelling, design thinking, lean data, impact assessment and adaptive leadership to build a solid business around their ideas. DEMO also assisted in outreach campaigns and was a part of the online pitching sessions where each team pitched their ideas and concept to a panel of judges for selection of the finalists of the competition to be awarded a prize money.

Women Empowerment through Digital Skills- KPITB

Women Empowerment through Digital Skills Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board under its initiative, "Digital Jobs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa" is empowering females across the province with Employable Digital Skills to expand their employment opportunities and know-how of the ever-evolving digital world.

‘Women Empowerment through Digital Skills’ is a program under this initiative that trained 3,000 women across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on employable digital skills to ensure women’s inclusion in the digital economy and remote work opportunities. The program has enabled women to take charge of their careers by learning in-demand digital skills and becoming financially independent with the help of our training and mentoring sessions.

This program was delivered in partnership with TechValley.

Employable Digital Skills for the Youth of Merged Areas

Employable Digital Skills for the Youth of Merged Areas Employable Digital Skills for the Youth of Merged Areas under KPITB's Youth Employment Initiative is aimed at building a skilled base of IT and knowledge-based workers in the Newly Merged Districts of the province for supporting youth employment in the digital industries. The project has equipped 840 youth across the Newly Merged Districts of KP with the 5 most in-demand digital skills to improve their employment prospects. The objective of the initiative is to bridge the digital divide amongst various socio-economic classes of society by offering necessary digital skills development programs.
